Beginning Tracking

These classes are open only to dogs that have not certified or earned a tracking title. The goal of these classes is to get the beginning dog/handler team ready to certify and pass an AKC TD or TDU test. In addition to working the dogs, map making equipment, AKC tracking rules and regulations, line handling and more will be covered.

Two separate classes will be offered

  • Beginning Tues, April 22 at 5 pm

Or

  • Beginning Thursday April 24 at 9 am

Cost: The registration fee is $150. Tracking classes are not eligible for the Platinum Pass. Payment is due immediately by PayPal during online registration. Each handler is only allowed to hold one spot in tracking class to make sure there is room for all interested. Class limit is 8 dogs per class.

Class will start April 22 or April 24 (depending on which class is selected) and will run throughout the summer (weather dependent). Both classes will meet at the Tower Field on MSU campus.

if you need to cancel, let us know asap. Tracking registration closes April 15 for a full refund. If you need to cancel between April 15 and 48 hours after the first class session, you will get a full refund minus $10.

Plan for class taking a few hours as time progresses for aging of the tracks. For those who work or live further away and cannot arrive at the stated class times, instructors can accommodate within reason.

Instructors: Deb Huff (huff.debra@gmail.com) (517-651-5401) and Beth Lange ( lovetervs@gmail.com) Both instructors are AKC tracking judges.
